Cessation – 5 Arguments

  1. According to Ephesians 2:20, prophecy is connected with the foundation of the church.
  2. Gift of apostle is no longer operative.
  3. Signs, wonders, and miracles are connected with true apostleship (2 Cor12:12); Sign gifts may not be the property of all believers.
  4. Purpose of the Tongues is to attest to new revelation (Heb 2:1-4).
  5. Tongues without attendant prophecy is absurd (1 Cor 14:6); and if there is attendant prophecy then sola scriptura is violated.
